RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The No. 15 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (19-2, 17-0 Great American Conference) will look to claim the outright GAC regular-season title when it travels to Searcy, Ark. for a conference matchup with second-place Harding (14-7, 12-5 GAC). Tonight's tip-off is set for a 5:30 p.m. start.
With five games to play in the regular season, Tech has a five-game lead on Harding; any win by the Golden Suns or loss by the Lady Bisons down the stretch will give the Golden Suns the outright championship and overall top seed in the upcoming Great American Conference championship tournament in Bartlesville.Â
PREVIOUS MEETINGTech and Harding met back on January 18 at Tucker Coliseum, with Arkansas Tech taking an 80-52 win over the Lady Bisons.
Fatima Adams had 21 points and 10 boards, while
Calli White (18 points) and
Aujana Dawkins (13 points) also hit double figures in points.Â
THE SERIESTech holds an all-time 53-8 advantage in the series between the two schools, however, in the past two seasons Harding took the momentum, winning four straight and five of seven. Tech is 23-4 all-time inside Rhodes Field House, but the Golden Suns will try tonight for their first win in Searcy since Jan. 24, 2013, when Tech topped Harding 50-46.
