RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After opening the season with an 8-1 victory over Evangel University last week, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team (1-0) will travel to Arkadelphia on Saturday, Feb. 13 to take on Delta State at 9 a.m. and Tarleton State at 3 p.m. in at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center at Henderson State.
SLAMMING IN SINGLESThe Golden Suns singles play appears to be quite strong in the early season, as Tech last week swept Evangel in each singles match. Not only did the Golden Suns sweep in singles, but also didn't drop a single set.
BUILDING FROM THE BOTTOMTech appears to have some strength within the No. 5 and No. 6 players.
Camila Roca and
Vandella Suico put together two strong performances in their last match. Roca defeated EU's Jessica Clark 6-2, 6-0 and Suico swept Shyanne Freeman 6-0, 6-0.
NO. 1 DOUBLES LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACKDespite each winning their singles match, No. 1 doubles pairing
Macarena Sedano Acosta and
Tamara Bell were the only ones that dropped their match against Evangel. After pulling out a pair of strong singles victories, the pair will look to bounce back in their two matchups this weekend.
