WONDER BOYS TRAVEL TO SOUTHERN ARKANSAS ON SATURDAY

Game Notes

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (12-10, 7-9 Great American Conference) will be looking to carry some momentum into Magnolia as they will face Southern Arkansas (12-10, 9-7) GAC at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
In the last meeting back on Jan. 16, the Muleriders came into Tucker Coliseum and pulled out an 83-80 comeback victory over the Wonder Boys. The last time Tech played down in Magnolia, SAU came away with a 109-80 win back on Jan. 29, 2015.

THE SAU SERIES
ATU and SAU will be playing each other for the 170th time in the history of the two programs, dating back to the 1927-28 season. The Wonder Boys lead the series 100-69 over Southern Arkansas. Tech will be looking to bounce back in the series as the Muleriders have won three of the last five matchups.

GETTING BACK ON TRACK
Since suffering a six game losing streak through the middle portion of January, the Wonder Boys have won three of their last five games, including home victories over Southwestern Oklahoma State and most recently an 85-73 home win over GAC-leading Ouachita Baptist.

THE CORLEY AND CLINE FACTOR
In the last three weeks, junior point guard Tyler Corley and freshman forward Mason Cline have played intricate roles in the Wonder Boys wins. Corley led the Wonder Boys in all three games with 21 points against Southwestern Oklahoma, a career-high 30 points against Ouachita Baptist, and 17 points as well as the game-winning tip-in shot against Oklahoma Baptist. Cline scored a career-high 16 points against SWOSU and 11 points against OBU.
