Cheyenne North scored a game-high 17 points, while
Kelsey McClure (14 points),
Danielle Frachiseur (12 points), and
Anissa Pounds (10 points) all reached double figures as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team (4-1) rolled to a 63-54 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis (3-2) on Saturday at the Mark Twain Building.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arkansas Tech had a strong opening to the game, taking a five-point (11-6) lead in the late minutes of the opening quarter.
- UMSL rallied, reeling off an 8-0 run to take a 13-11 lead with 1:58 remaining in the half before the Golden Suns reclaimed the lead with just over a minute remaining, taking a one-point (16-15) lead into the second quarter.
- Tech led by as many as five in the second quarter, settling into halftime with a 32-27 advantage.
- The two teams played even basketball over the first five minutes of the third quarter. With Tech holding onto a five-point (39-34) lead with 5:02 remaining, the Golden Suns quickly stretched the lead to double-digits, claiming a 13-point (47-34) lead to enter the fourth quarter.
- North buried a jumper in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to stretch the Tech lead to 15 (49-34), its largest lead of the contest.
- UMSL scored 15 of the next 19 points to pull the contest to within four points (53-49) with 5:38 to play.
- The Golden Suns responded well, reeling off three consecutive baskets to go ahead by ten (59-49) once again with 4:00 to play.
- UMSL was unable to pull any closer than eight points down the stretch as the Golden Suns held on for the win.
NOTABLES
- The Golden Suns outshot UMSL 46.3 to 37.5 percent for the game. Tech shot 42.9 percent in each of the first three quarters (on 6-of-14 shooting) before going 7-for-12 (58.3%) in the fourth, while UMSL was held to a game-low 23.1 percent (3-for-13) in the third quarter.
- Tech held a 36-30 advantage on the rebounding glass.
- Tech outscored UMSL 34-26 in points in the paint and 17-16 in points off turnovers. UMSL held an 11-5 advantage in second-chance points.
- Frachiseur led all players with nine rebounds, while North added seven.
- Calli White scored six points with four assists (no turnovers) and four steals.
- There were four ties and six lead changes in the game.
