RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech's women's basketball team will return to action Saturday with a road contest as the Golden Suns (3-1) head to St. Louis for a matchup with UMSL (3-1) in the Mark Twain Building.

Saturday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between Arkansas Tech and UMSL in women's basketball.
SCOUTING THE TRITONS
UMSL, a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), enters the game on a two-game win streak after wins over Lincoln and Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. UMSL opened the season with a 42-31 victory over Trevecca Nazarene before falling 72-66 to Kentucky Wesleyan. UMSL has found success thanks to a stifling defense that allows just over 50 points per game and holds a significant rebounding edge over its opposition - UMSL pulls down nearly 11 more boards per contest than its opponents. Jordan Fletcher leads the way offensively (12.3 ppg), while Laura Szorenyi (10.7 ppg) is close behind.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech's high-powered offense averages 78.5 points per game while holding opponents to just 56.0.
Kelsey McClure (15.3 ppg) has led the way offensively for the Golden Suns, while
Anissa Pounds (10.0 ppg) and
Danielle Frachiseur (10.0 ppg) are close behind. The Golden Suns hold a significant rebounding edge over their opposition as well, grabbing an average of 16 boards per game more than opponents. After an 81-51 win over Lane to open the season, Tech lost its conference opener 72-69 to SWOSU before reeling off back-to-back wins over Northwestern Oklahoma and Oklahoma Christian.
