RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns are set to host Philander Smith and Williams Baptist on Tuesday, for a volleyball tri-match.
The matches begin at 1 p.m., as Tech hosts Philander Smith. Philander Smith will then take on Williams Baptist at 3 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. match between Tech and Williams Baptist. All three matches will be played in Tucker Coliseum.
The Golden Suns (10-7, 4-1 GAC) are coming off wins over Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday and St. Edward's on Friday. Arkansas Tech took both matches, 3-0, as Tech moved into a tie for first in the Great American Conference after the win over UAM. In the win over St. Edward's,
Madison Nagel set a GAC record with 31 digs in a three-set match.
Tech currently leads the GAC in assists and kills per set, while the Golden Suns sit in third in both hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage.
Lauren Rodemers ranks second in individual hitting, while
Hunter Eshnaur is fourth in kills and Nagel is fifth in digs.
The Golden Suns are 6-0 all-time against Philander Smith and 15-0 against Williams Baptist. Tech defeated both teams, 3-0, last season.
