RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech volleyball will host three matches in Tucker Coliseum on Tuesday, beginning with a contest between the Golden Suns and Central Baptist College at 1 p.m. Central Baptist will then take on Lyon College at 3 p.m., followed by "Faculty-Staff Appreciation Night" as Tech hosts Lyon at 5 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring macaroni and cheese to donate to River Valley Food 4 Kids, as part of Tech's Fight On Against Childhood Hunger campaign.
The Golden Suns (15-10, 7-4 GAC) have won their last three non-conference matches, all ending in three sets. Tech is coming off two, five-set losses last Friday and Saturday, however, to GAC opponents Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene.
Tech currently ranks at the top of the Great American Conference in kills per set, as the Golden Suns are the only GAC team with over 1,000 kills on the season. Tech also ranks second in assists per set and opponent hitting percentage and third in team hitting percentage.
Central Baptist (3-16) is coming off 10 consecutive losses, including two against GAC teams. The Golden Suns have won all eight matches all-time against the Lady Mustangs.
Lyon College (13-12) has won two of its last three matches, including a five-set victory over CBC. The Scots are 0-3 this season against GAC schools. Tech has an all-time record of 24-0 against Lyon College, dating back to 1995.
