GOLDEN SUNS OPEN TWO-GAME HOMESTAND SATURDAY

Game Notes

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The No. 22 Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (9-2, 7-0 Great American Conference) will return to Tucker Coliseum for a two-game homestand, hosting Southern Arkansas (9-2, 5-2 GAC) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 and Harding (8-3, 6-1 GAC) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18.

MEDIA COVERAGE
The games will be carried live on KCJC-FM (102.3) in Russellville. Sam Strasner will call the play-by-play and Kelly Davis will provide color analysis.

THE SAU SERIES
Saturday's game against Southern Arkansas is the 75th meeting all-time between the two programs. Arkansas Tech has a 69-9 advantage in the series between the two teams dating back to the 1977-78 season. Southern Arkansas won the last meeting between the two teams 57-52 in Magnolia, snapping a 18-game win streak for the Golden Suns. Southern Arkansas has not won in Tucker Coliseum since January 6, 2005, and the Golden Suns have a 36-3 advantage all-time in Russellville.

THE HARDING SERIES
Monday's game will be the 62nd meeting all-time  between the two schools. Tech holds an all-time 53-8 advantage in the series, winning 44 of the first 45 meetings between the two schools. With the ascendance of the Harding program in recent years, the series has evened somewhat - since the 2008-09 season, Tech's advantage is 10-7. Harding has won four of the last five meetings.

THE 200 CLUB
Golden Suns head coach Dave Wilbers picked up his 200th career win against Ouachita Baptist. The win came in his 252nd game since taking over the Golden Suns basketball program, making him the secondfastest women's four-year college coach to reach the 200-win plateau in Arkansas - and ensuring that the two fastest coaches to reach that plateau did so while coaching the Golden Suns - former Tech coach Joe Foley reached the milestone in his 224th game.

THE CHASE FOR 1,000
Two Golden Suns are within striking distance of the 1,000-point plateau this season. Junior Anissa Pounds (872 points) and senior Fatima Adams (850 points) are both in range of making the move into 1,000-point territory.

PRODIGAL SON RETURNS
Tech's game against Southern Arkansas will mark the return of former assistant coach Julio Pacheco to Tucker Coliseum. Pacheco spent seven seasons as the assistant coach for the Golden Suns.

AUJ-AND-0
When junior Aujana Dawkins hits the 10-point mark it's a good sign for the Golden Suns - Tech is undefeated when Dawkins reaches double figures.
