ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Arkansas Tech head coach picked
Dave Wilbers up his 200th win with Golden Suns as Tech came away with a 69-48 victory over Ouachita Baptist Thursday night at Bill Vinning Arena in Arkadelphia.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Golden Suns (9-2, 7-0 Great American Conference) jumped out to an 8-4 lead over the Tigers (5-8, 2-5 GAC) after the first media timeout on a couple of Fatima Adams baskets and a Calli White three-pointer.
- Danielle Frachiseur came off the bench after the first media timeout to score eight of the next 11 points for the Golden Suns to give Tech a 19-9 lead after the first quarter.
- The Tigers cut the ATU lead to down to 27-24 with 49 seconds to go in the first half, but an Anissa Pounds long range three-pointer from the left wing stretched the lead back to six. White added a fall away jumper from six feet away with 2.1 seconds to go to give the Golden Suns a 32-26 lead at halftime.
- The Golden Suns forced the Tigers into committing 13 first half turnovers and held OBU to just 36-percent from the field and 28-percent from behind the arc in the first half.
- Tech ended the third quarter with a 7-0 run, capped off with a Tierani Richardson buzzer-beating three-point shot to make it a 51-36 game at the end of the third quarter.
- Aujana Dawkins put together a strong fourth quarter for the Golden Suns, scoring nine of the Golden Suns' 18 points in the quarter to give Arkansas Tech the 69-48 victory.
NOTABLES- Since becoming the head coach of the Golden Suns, Wilbers became the second-fastest head coach in the history of Arkansas four-year colleges. Wilbers has a record of 200-52 (.794) and only finished behind Golden Suns predecessor Joe Foley who picked up his 200th win in 224 games.
- Adams tallied her fifth double-double of the season with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, 7-of-9 from the free throw line to go with her 15 rebounds while also recording a season-high four steals.
- The Golden Suns outscored the Tigers 42-16 in the paint with Dawkins scoring her second-highest point total of the season with 16 points while Frachiseur scored nine points coming off the bench.
- The Tech defense forced OBU into committing a season-high 26 turnovers and a season-low 48 points. The Tigers shot just 29-percent from the floor and 17-percent from three-point range.
- The Golden Suns forwards frustrated OBU leading scorer Katie Kapler. Tech held her to just five points as she came into the game averaging 14.8 points per game.
- The last time Tech defeated Ouachita Baptist by more than 20 points in Arkadelphia came all the way back on February 17, 1994 as the Golden Suns defeated the Tigers 78-44.
COACH WILBERS SAYS- On reaching 200 wins - "It feels good because we got a road win. That's the most important thing. I've had a lot of great players and fantastic assistant coaches. There's been a lot of things that have added up to that 200. I'm excited about it."
- On the victory – "I thought our defense was outstanding. We did a great job of defending their players. A great job of taking what we've been practicing and taking it to the court."
WHO'S NEXTThe Golden Suns will return to Tucker Coliseum on Saturday for the first time since December 5 as ATU will face off against Southern Arkansas at 1 p.m.
