BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Bohdana Sardak and Olga Leyshyna were 8-2 winners at No. 1 doubles, while Vandella Suico and Laura Sanchez picked up an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team avenged its Great American Conference tournament setback at the hands of East Central, downing the Tigers 5-1 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

ECU claimed the No. 2 doubles point, as the duo of Gloria Mayorga and Virginie Rodriguez downed Camila Roca and Tamara Bell 8-5.

In singles play, Sardak downed ECU's Bernardita Muscillo 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Leyshyna topped Elisabeth Dignard 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, and Suico picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win over Veronica Mijares at the No. 6 singles position to seal the Golden Suns' victory.

The Golden Suns will advance to face regional host Southwest Baptist at in the region final at 10 a.m. Monday.
