ENID, Okla. —
Caleb McKinnon went 3-for-5, while
Cole Fergus and
Collin O'Neil both picked up two hits, but the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team (30-21) were unable to capitalize on early opportunities in a 7-2 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma on day two of the Great American Conference championship tournament.
The Wonder Boys'
Cody Jones and SE's Dylan Linke dueled through the first two innings of the game, but the Savage Storm got on the board with a solo homer in the third and tacked on another run on a sacrifice fly later in the inning.
An RBI single in the fourth pushed the SE lead to 3-0, but the Wonder Boys got on the board as
Cole Fergus hit a tape-measure blast to left in the fourth inning.
The Savage Storm got the run back in the fifth with an RBI single by Corban Taylor, before Fergus drove home another run with an RBI single in the fifth.
However, Southeastern tacked on three more runs in the sixth and the Wonder Boys were unable to push another run across.
Aaron Johnson tossed four solid innings in relief in the finale, allowing just two hits, walking none, and fanning two.
