CONWAY, Ark. — The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns tennis team (2-1) used straight-set wins at every singles position as well as a sweep of the doubles points to sweep past Hendrix (4-2) on Wednesday in Conway.
The duo of
Olga Leyshyna and
Bohdana Sardak were 8-0 winners at the top doubles slot, topping the Warriors' Pratheepa Ravikumar and Laela Zaidi.
Tamara Bell and
Camila Roca edged Lauren Mahaney and Julia Lefler 8-6 at the second doubles position, while
Laura Sanchez and
Vandella Suico topped Hannah Smashey and Sarah Walker 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.
Bell led the way in singles, picking up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ravikumar at No. 1 singles, while Sardak downed Mahaney 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles spot. Leyshyna topped Zaidi 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, Sanchez earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, and Roca picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 5 doubles spot.
Suico rounded out the singles wins with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Smashey at the No. 6 position.
Arkansas Tech returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21, traveling to Texarkana, Texas to face off against LSU-Shreveport.
