WONDER BOYS DROP EXHIBITION TO LUMBERJACKS

NACOGDOCHES, Texas Andrew Guillory scored 13 points and grabbed four boards, while Tyler Corley turned in a 12-point performance as the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team dropped an 86-48 exhibition to Stephen F. Austin on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SFA led by five (18-13) with 12:16 to play in the contest before the Wonder Boys used an 8-0 run to claim a three-point (21-18) lead with 10:10 to play.
  • The two teams traded leads down the stretch in the opening half with Tech leading by as many as four (33-29) with 3:24 to play in the half.
  • The Lumberjacks closed the half on a 10-0 run to take a six-point (39-33) lead at the half.
  • SFA scored the first 11 points of the second half to jump ahead by 17 points (50-33) with 15:09 to play, and SFA would maintain its lead the rest of the way.
NOTABLES
  • DeChriston McKinney grabbed a team-high eight boards in the game.
  • Guillory was the only Wonder Boy to shoot 50 percent or higher from the charity stripe, going 4-for-6.
  • SFA held a 38-26 advantage in paint points, a 16-11 advantage in fast-break points, and a 32-11 advantage in points off turnovers.
  • The game counted as an exhibition for the Wonder Boys, but counted as a regular-season event for the Lumberjacks, who captured the 2015 Southland Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
