SEARCY, Ark. –
Hunter Eshnaur had a match-high 15 kills, while
Katie Huff turned in a 13-kill performance and
Kaci Jackson added ten, but the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team was unable to overcome a top-notch blocking effort by Harding in a 3-1 loss to the Lady Bisons on Tuesday at the Rhodes Field House.
The loss snapped a 18-match win streak for the Golden Suns, and a 23-match Great American Conference win streak.
"Harding played an unbelievable match tonight," said Golden Suns head coach
Kristy Bayer. "They came in focused and aggressive. They had an awesome crowd."
The Golden Suns (24-6, 14-1 Great American Conference) won the opening set 25-22, but Harding (15-14, 9-6 GAC) raced back with 25-20, 25-22, and 28-26 wins in the next three sets to clinch the victory.
Sarita Stegall led the Golden Suns with 43 assists, while
Madison Nagel turned in a 21-dig performance. Jackson and Stegall had double-doubles with their 12-dig performances.
Katie Huff led the Golden Suns with three blocks.
Harding outhit the Golden Suns .289 to .181 for the match, while notching 11 team blocks on the night. Five of those blocks came in the fourth set.
Arkansas Tech returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 12, facing Ouachita Baptist at Tucker Coliseum in the Golden Suns' regular season finale. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start, with live video and statistics available at

"This just makes Thursday's match that much more crucial," said Bayer. "Our whole regular season is on the line this Thursday."
