RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — With its winning streak pushed to 13 matches in a row after picking up four victories in four days last week, the Arkansas Tech volleyball team will have another busy stretch this week, starting with a tri-match Tuesday at Tucker Coliseum.
The Golden Suns (19-5) welcome Williams Baptist (15-11) and Bacone (0-23) to Russellville, with Tech facing the Eagles at 2 p.m. and the Warriors at 6, with the two visiting teams taking the court at 4 p.m.
Tech is fresh off of a pair of sweeps over Central Baptist and Lyon College in another tri-match Oct. 20, and followed that with an impressive sweep of Oklahoma Baptist and a five-set victory over Southern Nazarene Thursday and Friday to stay atop the Great American Conference Standings. The matches Tuesday will be the final nonconference action of the season for the Suns.
The Golden Suns picked up some solid efforts from young players in last week's tri-match, with sophomore Mariah King putting together 13 kills and six blocks while hitting .524 over the two matches. Freshman Kimberly Huff added seven total kills.
Williams Baptist enters on a four-match winning streak, but Tech owns a 25-0 advantage all-time against the two teams.
