ARKADELPHIA, Ark. —
Clarence Willard turned in a 16-point, seven-rebound, six-assist effort, while
Darrick Little came off the bench to score 10 points, but it was not enough for the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys basketball team (9-12, 5-8 Great American Conference) as Tech dropped a 71-57 decision to Ouachita Baptist (14-4, 10-3 GAC) on Saturday in Arkadelphia.
The Tigers led wire-to-wire after opening the game on a 10-1 run.
Tech responded after the game-opening 10-1 run with a 12-5 run of their own to pull to within two (15-13) with 10:36 to play, but OBU took advantage of another hot streak, outscoring Tech 10-2 over the next five minutes to push the lead into double digits.
OBU took a nine-point (31-22) lead into the half.
The Tigers stretched their lead to 20 (50-30) at the 13:03 mark of the second half, and would hold the Wonder Boys at arm's length down the stretch.
OBU held a 43.6 to 34.0 advantage in field goal percentage, while holding a 35-30 advantage on the rebounding glass.
Tech concludes its three-game road swing on Thursday, Feb. 5, facing Southwestern Oklahoma in Weatherford, Oklahoma. A 7:30 p.m. tip is scheduled.
