TECH BASKETBALL RESUMES GAC PLAY SATURDAY

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns and Wonder Boys basketball programs will return to Great American Conference play this Saturday, Jan. 3, hosting the University of Arkansas at Monticello. The Golden Suns will tip off at 1 p.m. with the Wonder Boys following at 3 p.m.

Both games will be carried live on 100.9-FM (KWKK) in Russellville, with live audio, video, and statistics available at www.arkansastechsports.com.

The Golden Suns (9-1, 4-0 GAC) are one of three undefeated teams in GAC play. East Central is also 4-0, while Harding is 5-0. Head coach Dave Wilbers' Golden Suns are averaging over 80 points per game in the early going, and have been paced by the play of Fatima Adams, who averages over 20 points per game.

The Cotton Blossoms (5-5, 3-2 GAC) are a tremendously improved squad from the team that won just eight games, four in league play, just one year ago. UAM is paced by Jordan Goforth's 19.9 points per game. Tech has dominated the all-time series, holding a 63-24 advantage, including a 36-6 advantage at Tucker Coliseum.

The Wonder Boys (6-6, 2-2 GAC) will look to move back into the win column after falling Wednesday at Pittsburg State. The friendly confines of Tucker Coliseum provide an ideal setting for that effort, as the Wonder Boys are 5-2 this season on their home court.

The Boll Weevils (3-5, 1-4 GAC) are led by first-year head coach Kyle Tolin. In addition to a non-conference win over Champion Baptist, the Boll Weevils have picked up quality wins over Delta State and Harding. UAM has won three of the last four meetings with the Wonder Boys.
