Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. —
Emily Todd turned in a 19-kill effort with 10 digs,
Madison Nagel had 28 digs, and
Sierra Nighswonger dished out 48 assists with 11 digs, but the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (8-5, 4-1 Great American Conference) was unable to finish its rally against Southern Nazarene (9-3, 3-0 GAC), falling 3-2 to the Crimson Storm on Friday at Tucker Coliseum.
"We played two good sets, but against a top team in the conference you can't play just two good sets, you have to play a full match," said head coach
Kristy Bayer. "We were extremely high-error and they were more physical than us today."
The Golden Suns quickly found themselves in a 2-0 hole after SNU won the opening sets 25-19 and 25-22. Arkansas Tech calmed the Storm in the third winning 25-16 and held on for a 25-21 win in the fourth set, but SNU took a 15-12 decision in the fifth set to seal the match win.
SNU held a .170 to .127 advantage in hitting for the match, while outblocking the Golden Suns 13-6.
Sarah Bennett (10 kills) and
