RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (8-4, 4-0 Great American Conference) will return to action this Friday and Saturday, hosting Southern Nazarene on Friday before heading east to face Union and Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday.
Fresh off a win over Harding, the Golden Suns enter Friday's matchup with Southern Nazarene at a perfect 4-0 in GAC play. Southern Nazarene stands right behind the Golden Suns at 8-3, and 2-0 in GAC play. The Crimson Storm has league wins over East Central (3-2) and Southwestern Oklahoma (3-0), and has lost to Lubbock Christian, Washburn, and Oklahoma Baptist. SNU has impressive 3-2 wins over Midwestern State and St. Mary's to their credit thus far.
Friday's match with the Crimson Storm will be played at 4 p.m.
The Golden Suns will hit the road immediately following Friday's matchup, and head to Jackson, Tenn. and the campus of Union University where the Golden Suns will square off against Union and Trevecca Nazarene.
Tech will be looking to avenge an earlier 3-2 loss to TNU (8-3), who picked up the win over the Golden Suns on the final day of the Trevecca Nazarene Invitational just two weeks ago. But first, the Golden Suns will square off against a Union (3-7) team that is entering weekend play on a three-match skid, dropping conference matchups with Valdosta State, West Florida, and North Alabama.
While the Golden Suns will be making a haul from Russellville to Jackson, Union will have a longer trip, as they play West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga. on Friday evening.
Saturday's matchup with Union will be played at Noon, after which the Golden Suns will play TNU at 2 p.m.
