GOLDEN SUNS DOWN NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA

Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Emily Todd had a team-high 14 kills, hitting 278 with 11 digs, while Katie Huff and Sarah Bennett both added 11 kills, Sierra Nighswonger dished out 41 assists, and Madison Nagel added 23 digs as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns (7-4, 3-0 Great American Conference) remained undefeated in conference play, taking a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma (6-3, 1-1 GAC) on Saturday.

After the Golden Suns lost the opening set, 25-16, Tech rallied back winning the next three sets 25-19, 25-16, and 25-21.

"I was impressed with how Sarah Bennett came in, in a pressure situation as a freshman and terminated, giving us huge offensive production," said head coach Kristy Bayer. "Katie Huff gave us a lot of energy and offensively put the ball away at crucial times."

Madison Nagel joined the double-figure dig totals with a 23-dig performance. Katie Huff had 11 kills and hit .320. Tech hit .215 for the match, holding the Rangers to a .167 mark. The Golden Suns hit a high with a .419 percentage in the third set.

The Golden Suns return to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, facing Harding in a rematch of the Great American Conference Championship match. Tech will be celebrating Pack The Stands Night at Tucker Coliseum during Tuesday's match.
