SURTEVALL CLAIMS SHARE OF LEAD, GOLDEN SUNS CLIMB TO FOURTH ON DAY TWO OF NCAA REGIONAL
Final round of super regional play is set for Tuesday.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Rebecka Surtevall carded a second-round 73 (+1), improving eight strokes from her first-round score and claim a share of the lead, while the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns golf team posted an improvement of 22 strokes from their first-round total, climbing five spots to fourth place after the second round of the NCAA Super Region 3 Championship.

With a two-round score of 664, the Golden Suns sit 23 strokes behind overall leader Central Oklahoma and 12 strokes behind third-place Northeastern State. The top three teams in the region will advance to championship play in Daytona Beach, Fla., along with the top three individual finishers on non-qualifying teams.

After two rounds, Central Oklahoma, Augustana, and Northeastern State sit above the team cutline, while Surtevall, Tavia Rutherford of Sioux Falls, and Ashlynn Hall of Southwestern Oklahoma sit above the individual cutline.

Niki Possage carded a day two 79, an improvement of five strokes for a two-day total of 163, seven strokes back of the individual cutline. She is tied for tenth after the second round Taylor Kline improved five strokes, shooting a second-round 80, and is tied for 19th place. Megan Jeffery posted a four-stroke improvement with a second-round 89, and sits in 44th place, while Megan Kelley improved four strokes for a second-round 98, and sits in 48th place.

The final round of the NCAA Super Region3 Championship will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.
