BARTLESVILLE, Okla. â€“ The 2013-14 Great American Conference postseason awards have been announced, and two Golden Suns players earned honorable mention all-GAC picks, the league office announced Wednesday.

Junior Jacinda Myers-Sanders and freshman Anissa Pounds both earned honorable mention selections to the All-Great American Conference squads in their first season in an Arkansas Tech uniform.

Myers-Sanders, a native of Tampa, Fla., has started 23 games this season, ranking third on the Tech squad with a 11.5 points per game average. She shot 56.6 percent from the floor, and leads the Golden Suns with 7.2 rebounds per game.

Pounds, a native of Kotka, Finland, has also seen the starting lineup in 23 games and is tied for the team lead with 13.2 points per game. A 43 percent shooter, Pounds has hit a team-high 56 3-pointers this season. She leads the Golden Suns with 77 assists, and is tied for second on the squad with 33 steals.

The Golden Suns will open play at the Great American Conference Championship Tournament on Friday, March 7, facing fifth-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma. Tip-off from Bruin Fieldhouse is set for 8 p.m.
