Kaylee Konsella turned in matching 22-kill performances,
Madison Nagel had a 32-dig performance, and
Sierra Nighswonger dished out 63 assists as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns volleyball team (13-5, 5-1 Great American Conference) picked up a 3-1 win over Southeastern Oklahoma (8-8, 2-2 GAC) on Friday.
The Golden Suns and Southeastern Oklahoma split the first two sets, with Tech taking a 25-21 decision in the opening set before SE won a 26-24 decision in the second set to knot the match. Tech took narrow 25-23 and 30-28 decisions in the third and fourth sets to seal the win.
"We had a great offensive night tonight," said Golden Suns head coach
Kristy Bayer. "We had several players with great production. Nighswonger did a solid job in spreading the ball and getting our hitters in good situations. We still need to step up our blocking game. Konsella has really been playing physical, and she has really added to our offense."
Todd hit .391 in her performance, while Konsella turned in a .362 performance. The duo combined to lead Tech to a .346 hitting percentage for the match, including a .405 mark in
the second set.
Todd added 17 digs and Nighswonger also added 14, while
Kaci Jackson had a 14-kill, 12-dig performance to notch a trio of double-doubles for the Golden Suns.
Katie Huff also added an 11-kill effort in the win.
Konsella had all three of Arkansas Tech's service aces.
Arkansas Tech continues its road swing on Saturday with a 2 p.m. matchup against East Central in Ada, Oklahoma.
