Philip Loyd

Philip Loyd enters his first year at Arkansas Tech as an assistant athletic trainer. He will work with primarily with baseball and football teams while helping out where needed.

The Fort Smith, Ark., native comes to Arkansas Tech having most recently served as assistant athletic trainer at Drury University, where he oversaw the health care for the men’s and women’s swim and dive and men’s and women’s tennis teams. He also spent some time at Missouri State University working with men’s soccer and men’s golf.

Loyd spent three-plus years at Delta State University. While at Delta State, he oversaw the athletic training services for the baseball program, served as an insurance coordinator and was a first aid and CPR instructor among other duties.

Prior to his time at Delta State, Loyd also had stops as an athletic trainer at Bethel University, Hendrix College/Conway Regional Health Systems and the Texarkana Arkansas School District while also spending one year as a graduate assistant at West Texas A&M University.

A 2017 graduate from Southern Arkansas University with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Loyd added a master's degree in Exercise Science from Delta State in May 2024.
 
Loyd is BOC certified athletic trainer and is licensed in the state of Arkansas. Additionally, he holds a certification in Dry Needling.
