Destini Nguyen is entering her third year working in the Athletic Communication office as the social media coordinator. Majoring in Journalism (PR), Speech Communication and minoring in Social Media at Arkansas Tech, Destini, a graduate of Dardanelle High School, began working in Athletic Communications at the start of her freshman year and continues to grow in her position.
Destini started with creating media for pre-game and in-game content for all sports offered at ATU. She later picked up photography where she now shoots for various sports on campus and surrounding areas.Â
While in the position, Destini makes pre-game reels of athletes dancing, lip syncing, and making skits to show off the sides of athletes not very many people get to see. Her in-game content involves her at all athletic events to show live game updates - from touchdowns, dunks, home runs, and exciting wins, she is there to capture every moment.Â
In her sophomore year, Destini expanded her work to the conference level and covered the Great American Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Tournament in 2024 and the GAC Baseball Championship Tournament later that year. She will continue to work with the GAC for future championships and social media content creation.
In her transition to her junior year, Destini was contracted by the NCAA to work as the social media coordinator for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championship Tournament.
