Daniel Gallegos

Daniel Gallegos is in his sixth year at Arkansas Tech University and his 16th overall in athletic communications. In September 2025, Gallegos was promoted to role of Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications after spending the previous five years as the Director of Athletic Communications at Tech.

Over the course of his career, Gallegos has been a voting member of the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) Central Region ranking committee for Men's and Women's Basketball as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) Central Region ranking committee. Beginning in the spring of 2024, Gallegos became the Central Region chair for the NCBWA and served on the national ranking committee while also being a contributor to the NCBWA All-Region and All-America selection process. Gallegos has also served as the Women's Basketball Central Region chair for D2CAA since 2021-2022 facilitating All-Region voting.

Most-recently, Gallegos was voted by his peers to serve on the D2SIDA Board as the Central Region Representative. That appointment began with the 2024-2025 academic year.

Gallegos' arrival at Tech in the Fall of 2020 brought him back to the Great American Conference where he spent time at two other GAC schools during the course of his career. The most-recent of those GAC schools was Southern Arkansas University where Gallegos spent five years (2013-2018). While at SAU where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and helped further the Mulerider communications efforts through: a total website redesign, improved social media content, and complete livestreaming of nearly all home Mulerider athletic events. In addition to handling publicity for the 14-sport Division II Southern Arkansas department, he helped host four NCAA Tournaments hosted by Southern Arkansas, including the 2018 baseball and softball regional tournaments, which were held at the same time.

Before his time at SAU, Gallegos spent a year and a half as a graduate assistant at Henderson State University (2011-2013). Additionally, Gallegos served as an assistant in the athletic communications offices at the University of the Ozarks as an undergrad (2007-2010) and at Allegheny College as a post-grad intern (2010-2011).

Prior to rejoining the fold of the GAC and Division II, Gallegos spent two years as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at the University of New Mexico (2018-2020). While at UNM, Gallegos served as the primary contact for women's soccer, women's basketball and baseball. 

A graduate of the University of the Ozarks in May of 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications, Gallegos earned his Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Henderson State in May of 2013.
 
Gallegos is married to the former Kylie Venable and the couple has one daughter, Parker Grace and one son, Paxton Rhys.
