FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2025 season for the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team came to an end on Friday afternoon as they lost 4-1 to No. 3-seeded Southeastern Oklahoma in the opening round of the Great American Conference Championship.
Southeastern took a 1-0 lead in the match as they grabbed the doubles point with wins at flights one and three. Flight two doubles was left unfinished after Southeastern clinched the point. At the time of it being left unfinished, the pairing of
Elis Gergel and
Maria Krite were up 5-4.
In singles action, the Savage Storm won at flights six and four to go up 3-0 before Gergel won her top-flight singles match, 6-2, 6-2 over Southeastern's Carol Mora Camacho. Shortly thereafter, however, the match was clinched for Southeastern as they won at flight two.
Flights three and five were left unfinished.
