RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's tennis team concluded their regular season at home against Harding this past Friday afternoon and were awarded a 4-3 win after a lineup protest was validated by the league office and its chief tennis official.
Initially, Harding won the match, 4-3, but their singles lines four and six were ruled invalid due to ITA lineup rule 1-d-4. The Golden Suns had out-right won line six, but lost at line four. With the forfeit of line four for Harding, the Golden Suns captured four of the six singles matches after dropping the doubles point to win the match.
With the win, the Golden Suns are now the No. 4-seed in the upcoming Great American Conference Tournament and will take on No. 5-seed Harding in the opening round on Thursday, April 25. First-serve for the match is slated for 2 p.m. from the Memorial Park Tennis Complex in Bentonville.
