CONWAY, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech women's track & field team wraps up their first day at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational hosted by the University of Central Arkansas at the Bill Stephens Track Complex. Tech competed in the 1500m race to start the weekend and will compete in all other events tomorrow for the second and final day of the meet.
RESULTS
The Golden Suns had seven laced up and ready to go for the 1500m race this evening. Representing the green & gold in the race was
Marcie Cudworth,
Morganne Browning,
Calli Beshore,
Audrey Hill,
Mackenzie Hendrix,
Avery Stanley and
Mandy Sykora.
Cudworth finished with the best time among the Tech competitors with a 4:47.67 race time, which earned her the third-place overall finish in the event. Following Cudworth was Browning with a 4:51.77 overall time. Brownings time in the race sets a new PR for the Fayetteville, Ark. native in the 1500.
Beshore was the next member of the Golden Suns to cross the finish line with a 4:53.92 total time, while Hill was next clocking in at a 4:56.88 mark for the 1500. Rounding out the group in the 1500 was Hendrix with a 5:03.25 time, Stanley with a 5:03.51 finish and Sykora who came across the finish with a 5:06.60 overall time. The time by Sykora sets a new PR in the 1500 for the Marietta, Okla. native in the event.

The Golden Suns will close out their weekend at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational tomorrow as they get set to go for the second and final day of the meet. Tech's first event tomorrow will be the 5000m race, which is set to begin at 10 a.m. from the Bill Stephens Track Complex in Conway.
