RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Following the conclusion to their 2023 indoor track season, the Arkansas Tech women's track & field team now set their focus on the 2023 outdoor track season that will begin tomorrow in Conway, Ark. as they gear up to compete in the Hendrix Alumni Open hosted by Hendrix College at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
There will be 19 total competing teams across the board at Saturday's meet at Hendrix. Aside from the Golden Suns, other competing teams from the Great American Conference will include Southwestern Oklahoma State and Ouachita Baptist.Â

EVENT RUNDOWN
The Golden Suns will open their day on Saturday with the shotput where
Dallice White is slated to go for the green and gold. The shotput event is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow morning in Conway.Â
Following the shotput, the Golden Suns will then take to the track to compete in the 3000m steeplechase that will see
Avery Stanley represent Arkansas Tech as the lone competitor in the event. The event is set to begin at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.Â
Shortly after the 3000m steeplechase, Tech is set to compete in the 1500m race at 1:50 p.m.. Lacing up for the 1500 will be
Mackenzie Epperson and
Mackenzie Hendrix in section one, while
Libby Booth is set to race in section two and the trio of
Marcie Cudworth,
Morganne Browning and
Ashlynn Mays will compete in section three of the 1500m race.Â
Next up in events for the day will be the 800 meter race that has
Calli Beshore slotted to race in section four and
Felicity West locked in to compete in section five of the event. The 800m is set to begin around 2:55 p.m. tomorrow afternoon in Conway.
Closing out the day for Arkansas Tech at the Hendrix Alumni Open will be the 5000m race where the group of Beshore, Mays,
Sophey Pope, Booth and
Mandy Sykora will lace up and compete in the second section of the event. The 5000m race is set for a 4:15 p.m. race time on Saturday.Â
