RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech women's track & field team prepares to head to their second scheduled meet of the 2023 indoor season in Pittsburg, Kan. for the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational hosted by Pittsburg State University. This will be the second of three total meets on the slate for the Golden Suns indoor season. The meet itself will be held at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

LAST TIME OUT
In their last outing, the Golden Suns were in Lincoln, Neb. for the Graduate Classic where
Marcie Cudworth took home first-place in the 5000m race, while also setting a new PR in the event for the sophomore. In the DMR, the relay team comprised of
Calli Beshore,
Felicity West,
Mary Beth Bailey and
Marcie Cudworth finished runner-up in the event.
Individually, six members of the Golden Suns set new PR's across a variety of events over the course of the weekend.
Following their start to the indoor season last weekend, the team now looks ahead to tomorrow where they will be back in competition. Over the course of Friday's meet, the Golden Suns will compete in the one mile race, the 800m, the shot put and the 3000m.
EVENT RUNDOWN
The Golden Suns will open their day competing in the mile. Set to go for the mile for Arkansas Tech will be
Mandy Sykora,
Morganne Browning, Beshore, Bailey,
Sophey Pope and
Avery Stanley. There is only one section in the event and is scheduled to begin at 3:50 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
Next up for Tech is the 800m run. In the first section of the event,
Audrey Hill and
Grace Newton are both slotted in to compete, while
Felicity West will race in the second section of the event. Start time for the 800m will be 4:55 p.m. tomorrow evening.
Following the 800m, the Golden Suns will take part in the shot put. Gearing up for the shot put for Tech will be
Dallice White with that event scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Finally, the Golden Suns will wrap up their time at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational participating in the 3000m race. Lacing up for the Golden Suns in their final event of the meet will be
Ashlynn Mays, Cudworth,
Mackenzie Epperson,
Libby Booth and
Mackenzie Hendrix. There will be just one section for the 3000m and is set for a 5:45 p.m. race time.
The Rumble in the Jungle Invitational meet itself is set to begin as a whole at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
