RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech University Department of Athletics is excited to announce a partnership with HomeTown Ticketing as their official ticket partner beginning in the 2021-22 athletic year. The partnership transitions ATU's athletic ticket operations to a digital ticket platform that will provide fans with the ability to purchase tickets in advance and on game days in a secure and contactless way.
As part of this partnership, tickets for all home football and basketball games (men's and women's) will now be sold exclusively online at
www.ArkansasTechSports.com/tickets and/or through a mobile device by using the "
HomeTown Fan" App, which is available for free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
"We are excited have HomeTown Ticketing as our official digital ticketing partner," remarked ATU interim director of athletics,
Abby Davis. "We feel that moving to digital tickets will provide a convenient and more efficient way for our fans and supporters to purchase their tickets in advance and access them on game days. We are sure our fans will enjoy the flexibility of this platform and see the elimination of potential long lines and wait times to purchase tickets the day of our events."
To promote contactless payments, Arkansas Tech will no longer be accepting on-site cash or credit card payments for any ticketed athletic events. While fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online or through the app on their mobile devices prior to arrival, tickets can be purchased the day of an event in the same fashion.
After purchasing tickets, fans will have the ability to print their purchased ticket at home, store them on the app itself or add them to their Apple Wallet or Google Pay, through the
HOMETOWN TICKETING Fan app, for quick scanning of their ticket from their mobile device upon arrival to the gate, making the entry into ATU Athletics events easier and more efficient.
Arkansas Tech faculty, staff and students can claim their season pass by using their T-number. ATU Green and Gold members will have their season passes emailed.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
- WHY DID ATU GO TO DIGITAL TICKETING?
- As COVID-19 continues to have an impact on college athletics, digital ticketing provides and efficient and safe way for fans to enjoy ATU events.
- HOW DO DIGITAL TICKETS WORK?
- Digital tickets work exactly the same as a printed ticket. Simply show the barcode on the ticket to the ticket staff at the gate to scan and gain admittance to the game.
- WILL DIGITAL TICKETING BE USED FOR AWAY CONTESTS?
- Many schools across the country and in the Great American Conference are using digital ticketing. Be sure to check the away school's ticket website before traveling.
- WILL CASH OR CREDIT CARD BE TAKEN AT GAMES?
- Cash or credit card will not be taken at the box office like in the past. QR code posters will be placed in the tailgating area and main entrance for football and at the main entrance for basketball. These codes can be scanned by any smart phone which will take you to the ATU athletics ticketing site. Fans can also download the HOMETOWN TICKETING fan app at any time, search for Arkansas Tech University and purchase tickets through the app.
- AFTER I PURCHASE MY TICKETS, WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THEM?
- Single game tickets will be sent via email upon purchase or made available in the HOMETOWN TICKETING fan app after purchase. From the app, you can add the ticket to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay for storage and ease of scan upon arrival at the gate.
- HOW DO I ENSURE THAT I CAN ACCESS MY TICKETS ON GAMEDAY VIA MY SMARTPHONE?
- We HIGHLY recommend that you add all your tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay Wallet prior to gameday. This will prevent you from having to deal with connectivity issues at the gate as the tickets will be stored in your digital wallet. Tickets can be downloaded to apple wallet and google pay from the HOMETOWN TICKETING fan app.
- I AM A GREEN AND GOLD MEMBER; HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PASS TO GAMES AND PARKING PASS IF I QUALIFY FOR ONE?
- Digital Green and Gold passes will be emailed to all members. That pass can be stored in the HOMETOWN TICKETING fan app to be scanned at games. Be sure to use the same mobile phone number for the app as you do for the Green and Gold membership form. Parking passes will also be emailed to those that qualify. These digital passes will be shown to the parking lot attendant.

- CAN I PRINT MY TICKET AT HOME AND BRING TO THE GAME?
- Yes, you can, but we HIGHLY recommend purchasing tickets through the HOMETOWN TICKETING fan app. Due to heightened fraud and counterfeit issues associated with print at home options, we recommend using your phone to store your ticket. In the future, ATU may move to digital tickets only without a pdf print at home option.
- WHAT IF I NEED TO LEAVE THE VENUE AND COME BACK DURING THE GAME, WILL I RESCAN MY TICKET?
- No, tickets will only be scanned once. If you need to leave and return, be sure to see a gate worker to have your hand stamped upon exit. To re-enter, show your stamped hand to the gate worker.
- I HAVE A FACULTY/STAFF/RETIRED EMPLOYEE/STUDENT PASS, CAN MY PASS BE SCANNED MORE THAN ONCE AT THE CONTEST?
- No, each season pass or single game ticket can only be scanned once at each contest. This prevents sharing passes or tickets with those who have not purchased a pass or ticket.
- ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL FEES?
- There are small processing fees that will be applied for all digital ticket purchases.
- WHAT ARE SOME PRO TIPS AT THE GATE?
- We recommend increasing the brightness of your screen when scanning the ticket. Only the first scan of a ticket will allow entrance to the contest. If a ticket has already been scanned, entry will be denied.
