CONWAY, Ark. – A little over three weeks since they last played, the Arkansas Tech women's tennis team picked up right where they left off and blanked Hendrix 9-0 in a non-conference road match on Tuesday afternoon.
For the match, the Golden Suns (2-2) dropped just five games total.
Both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles won their matches 8-0 as
Lea Grinberg and
Daniela Baez teamed up at the second flight and
Megan Bell and
Isabella Major at the third flight. The top-flight pairing of
Michelle Khoo and
Aastha Dargude won 8-2.
In singles play, Grinberg (No. 2) and Dargude (No. 3) did not lose a game and won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Khoo played in the top-flight singles match and also won in straight sets 6-3, 6-0. Singles flights 4-6 played just one set to eight and Baez (No. 4), Bell (No. 5) and Major (No. 6) all won 8-0.
The Golden Suns will now prepare for their long-awaited home-opener on Thursday afternoon as they play host to John Brown in a non-conference match. First-serve is at 1 p.m. Fan attendance policies for the 2021 tennis season will be released on Wednesday.
