WESCOTT LEADS WONDER BOYS PAST CRIMSON STORM

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.  – Cody Wescott notched four hits and five RBIs with a three-run home run on the day to help the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (14-10, 9-6 GAC) beat Southern Nazarene (9-14, 5-10) 10-4 in the opening game and 8-5 in the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
 
NEXT UP
  • The Wonder Boys will return to the field next weekend as Tech travels to Shawnee, Okla. for a three-game series with Oklahoma Baptist. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 23.

  • Wescott and Gibbs hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning. Wescott recorded his fifth home run of the season while Gibbs notched his third home run of the season.
  • Degan Harte came in the top of the fourth with one out and pitched Tech out of a bases loaded jam, getting the first batter to foul out to the catcher and striking out the next batter to take the Wonder Boys to the bottom of the fourth unscathed.
  • Harte picked up his third win of the season after allowing one run and one hit in 1.2 innings of work.
  • Nolan Withrow pitched 2.0 scoreless innings, fanning two on his way to picking up his third save of the season.
