GUM BREAKS CAREER STRIKEOUT RECORD AS TECH TAKES TWO FROM RANGERS

ALVA, Okla. – Jalissa Gum became Arkansas Tech's all-time leader in strikeouts, as the Golden Suns took both games of a doubleheader against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday. Tech defeated the Rangers, 4-2, before Gum pitched a complete-game with 10 strikeouts in game two's, 5-1, win.

  • Tolar and Vaughan combined for a one-hitter in the circle for the Golden Suns. Tolar earned the victory after allowing just two runs in six innings, and Vaughan took the save after pitching a scoreless seventh inning.
  • Gum allowed just four hits in seven innings in game two, and her 10 strikeouts give her 365 in her Tech career.
  • Henson batted leadoff in the second game and led the Suns with four hits, two runs and two runs batted in.
