BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech swept the opening day of the Arkansas-Monticello Division II Softball Challenge in Bentonville on Friday, defeating Northwest Missouri State, 6-0, and Pittsburg State, 5-4.
Jalissa Gum highlighted the day with five hits and two runs scored.

- Vaughan earned her third win of the season in game one, pitching 3.1 scorings innings in relief of Tolar. She also picked up her second save of the year against Pittsburg State. Vaughan has made an appearance in the circle in all six games this season for the Golden Suns.
- Shaffer added her second win of the season after 1.1 innings in relief of Gum.
- Coronado and Sangster combined for four runs batted in during game one, while Goodnight recorded her third and fourth run batted in on the year with a two-run home run that pulled Tech within one run against Pittsburg State.
