RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Coming off a three-game sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma, senior first baseman
Zach Klockowski from the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team was named the Great American Conference Player of the Week and junior pitcher
Kyle Wilson was named GAC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Klockowski put together a big series from the plate for the Wonder Boys, going 5-for-10 (.500) with three home runs, a double, 10 RBIs, and five runs scored while drawing a pair of walks. Klockowski had a huge opening game of the series, batting 4-for-4 with three homers, nine RBIs, and four runs scored to lead Arkansas Tech to a 17-0 victory.

So far this season, Klockowski leads the GAC in RBIs (16), is second in slugging percentage (.943), second in home runs (5), and is fifth in batting average (.400).

In his first start with the Wonder Boys, Wilson pitched a complete-game shutout against the Bulldogs. Wilson gave up just two hits and a walk while striking out 12 of the 27 batters he faced in the seven inning game to pick up his first win of the season.

The Wonder Boys will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 21 for a non-conference road matchup in Joplin, Mo. against Missouri Southern at Warren Turner Field. The game is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
